The beginning of the development of Stop The Beat


Welcome to the first Devlog of Stop The Beat!

Hi to everyone, you can call me Nix, and I'm the one who's developing this game, though this is my first project, I'm going to try my best. I hope when the game release, you'll like it!

In this first Devlog I'm going to give a small introduction to the story and mechanics of this game. But before starting, I'd like to remind everyone that as the develoment goes further, anything can change.

 The stroy takes place in a world base of the Old West, but with a small futuristic touch, in which there's something that it's making everything an everyone move to the beat of an unkown melody.  In this story, we control Axel, a person that is not a big fan of anything related to music, and when he realized what was going on, he decided to put an end to "this musical madness", but at the end of this adventure, he will remember something about his past.

And now I'm going to mention some of the main mechanics:

- The firts one is that for doing anything, such as moving or attacking, you will have to do it at the rhythm of the music, and in each level, the BPM of the music will get faster. To make a bit easier, at the bottom of the screen, there will be like a guide that will be helpful with visulizing the rhythm.

- Another mechanic will be an special attack, but you will need to defect or parry enemies to fill a bar to be able to do this special attack.

-And lastly, you'll be able to talk to some NPCs.

This is a rough sketch of the overall view of the game. At the bottom we can see the guide for the rhythm, and at the top left, below the health bar, we can find the special attack bar.
